R&R

Welcome back,

This past weekend was so relaxing. My friends and I joke about it but I literally had to quit my job to go on a girls trip with some great friends!

I am so lucky Stephanie and her family invited us up to Minnesota. The beauty of everything around us just brought such peace over me. In between refreshing cocktails, soaking up the sun, tubing, and eating the most delicious food I had this sense of family. Now this could be a Midwest thing, or it could just be Steph’s family is that bad ass, but I totally felt at home from the first moment I met everyone.

From telling jokes as if we’ve known each other for years to sharing how we met the woman who brings us all together we laughed so much I nearly burned off the calories I’d taken in… nearly. 🤭

There were so many moments on the lake I literally got lost in the sounds of the water while gazing at its beauty. It was like the stress relief sounds they have to put people to bed, BUT BETTER!!! It was real life and I still can’t get over it.

I also discovered my new food obsession: top the tater (I’ve known Steph for nearly 3 years and not once did she mention this; royal sinning).

So this is a chive and onion dip that changes the dip game for me. So much so I am researching ways to bring it to Chicago. What an activist, I know. You will thank me later tho.

The worst part of this trip was saying goodbye to such great people. When you meet someones family you can see exactly what made them the person they are. Stephanie’s family is so full of love and laughter with literally the biggest hearts to open up their home to me.

I’m still sad we had to go. 😪

Along our travels I added to my bucket list:

  1. Go snowboarding
  2. Ride a horse
  3. Run through a corn field

This was such a blast! Thank you Gayle and Mark for opening up your house to me! 😊
